Hello fellow event organisers, The situation that I'm facing is that we as a team will be at a University Fayre in January. I've emailed i...@shipit.ubuntu.com on 29th November to help with the distribution of discs and representation of ourselves at the event. The problem is that although we sent an email just over one week ago but we haven't yet had a response from ShipIt to either my own address that I sent it from or my friends' address that I CC'd. I'm not email to complain or anything similar but I'm just quering for what advice you guys can recommend for seeing if we can get a response or check the attached email below for any problems/errors. Also could you tell me how long it normally takes from your own experience if you have emailed for similar requests in the past.
I have deliberately used *s to represent the other party and the University at request in interest of privacy on a public mailing list however in the original email that ShipIt has, there is the name and address of the student and university. If however we do eventually get a response and get a refused response then also is there any advice that you can give to make sure that we pull this off successfully. For example disc distribution, at the moment we have about 130 or so discs left from our original dispatch as a team and I currently don't have a CD-R drive since my machine is a netbook and there could be anything from 700 to 12,000 people at the event so I was hoping for some extra discs to help distribution. Thanks very much for any advice or responses, Christopher Swift. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Christopher Swift <christopher.sw...@ubuntu-cym.org> Date: 2009/11/29 Subject: Ubuntu Cymru Conference Request - University Fayre To: i...@shipit.ubuntu.com Hello, I am contacting you to request an Ubuntu Conference Pack[0] which contains 4 Ubuntu T-Shirts, 25 sticker sheets & 50 leaflets, we will also be needing around extra 200 Ubuntu 9.10 32 bits discs. The equipment will be required to man a stall at ****** University's Fayre held on January 29th. The fayre is a fresher's fayre set up half-way through the year to show students to the different clubs and societies on offer at the University. There will be an Ubuntu Cymru[1] stall there as ****** University has the second biggest Ubuntu Cymru memberbase for any establishment in Wales where the team is beginning to take off in its stride. If any further information is required please can you email me back and **** *****, a student of ****** CC'd in this email. The address that we wish the items to be sent is the one below at ****** so then I won't need to carry them all on a train for the event. <Address Info> Thank you very much / Diolch yn fawr iawn, Christopher Swift, Point of Contact of Ubuntu Cymru.
