Sounds like you started to install from the Live CD and wiped out the partition table. If you don't read every prompt before clicking OK, it's certainly possible!

Software can alter the contents of a hard disk drive, but to accuse ANY software of physical damage is a BIG stretch. Graphic adaptor drivers can run a monitor at too high a frequency and cause physical damage, but I've never heard of disk management software being able to cause physical harm to a drive.

Like others have said, this is very likely a user created problem.

Have you tried to examine the partition table to see what's there? As someone else suggested, start with the format command and see what the partition table holds.

You've left out some steps of action you've taken which created your current problem. Tell us *exactly* what you were doing BEFORE this problem occurred.

For one..The LiveCD's DO NOT mount any system drives UNLESS, however,
you mounted an existing system drive on that computer, which you can
do manually. While the LiveCD is in use, nothing is ever written to
your computer's hard disk unless of course you mounted and tried to
write to that disk.

Please tell us what you were doing while using the LiveCD so that we
can assist in attempting to recover your system if that is even
possible.

Somedays before, I was using ubuntu from live cd. But now the hard
disk didn't show any space. It says the hard disk is unallocated. It
also shows while I tried to installl vista . No hard disk space was
found. It also says that it is unallocated. Now, is there any solution
for this problm.
