Unless you were using your Live CD to write files to the HD, I don't think
Linux is to blame. Even if you did write to the HD, there is only a small
chance Linux caused the the issue. The NTFS-3G driver is pretty well
written, and has never failed me, nor anyone else I've heard of. So while it
is possible that Linux caused the issue, you might want to begin by looking
in other places first (Bad HD, HD controller, etc).
