Hello all.
I'd need to handle many USB devices (the more the best). So, to reduce
hubs number I'm going to use 7-port ones. I've found those, so far:
- USB2507 (SMSC)
- ISB1521 (Philips)
- μPD720113 (NEC)
The host is a Linux box. Does some1 know of possible problems with any
of these? Or have used one and recommends it? I'm not planning to use
ISO transfers, and the connected devices are full-speed (FTDI-based).
Thanks,
Diego.

I'm using a Belkin hub for the same reason, to reduce the number of hubs:
http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=158910
Hi-Speed USB 2.0 7-Port Hub
Price: about 40 Euro
I've seen no problems so far.
The hub has 5 connectors on the back and 2 on the top. The interesting
part is that you can stack two hubs without loosing the top connectors
of the lower hub. This is very useful if you often need to connect
mobile devices like USB sticks or mp3 player. Each hub has it's own
connection to the computer.
They have a new model now, that is similar to the one I use:
