I don't think so, but i haven't tried that hub chip in quite a while.
I can't comment on 2.6.8 except that it's really old, and a lot of
changes since then.
I would suggest buying some off the shelf hubs from a consumer
electronics store and try them out. It will end up being a lot cheaper
than building your own board if that's what your doing.
In my experience though, the best hub chips have one TT per port.
