I don't have it with yours as well. :) However, there's a small change in u-boot's arch/riscv/lib/image.c that I forgot about (but sent it today, and you're on CC). Basically u-boot needs to honor force_reloc flag and not *force* the relocation when this flag is not set. > Can you give me any config that could allow me to reproduce this > (uboot/buildroot) ? And your qemu version ? Other than the small change mentioned above, u-boot and qemu are basically the latest git. All in all, I am quite sure now that your take on XIP is working fine. The issue with single-core boot under QEmu seems to be less reproducible on slower machines running QEmu and more reproducible on higher performance ones. It's not clear to me if that is a QEmu problem or an in-kernel race, but it's hardly a XIP problem: I was able to reproduce it once on a non-XIP kernel too, by copying it to RAM in u-boot and giving it a 'go'. > Thanks, > > > If I use 'booti' command it passes and goes further all the way to > > mounting the userspace > > > > So the problem is rather SMP related than XIP related. > > > > > > > Best regards, > > Vitaly > > > >>> Thanks! > >>> > >>> [ 0.000000] Linux version 5.12.0-rc2 (alex@debian) > >>> (riscv64-buildroot-linux-gnu-gcc.br_real (Buildroot 2020.11.2) 9.3.0, > >>> GNU ld (GNU Binutils) 2.34) #322 SMP Sat Apr 3 05:50:18 EDT 2021 > >>> [ 0.000000] Machine model: Microchip PolarFire-SoC Icicle Kit > >>> [ 0.000000] earlycon: sbi0 at I/O port 0x0 (options '') > >>> [ 0.000000] printk: bootconsole [sbi0] enabled > >>> [ 0.000000] Zone ranges: > >>> [ 0.000000] DMA32 [mem 0x0000000080000000-0x00000000bfffffff] > >>> [ 0.000000] Normal empty > >>> [ 0.000000] Movable zone start for each node > >>> [ 0.000000] Early memory node ranges > >>> [ 0.000000] node 0: [mem 0x0000000080000000-0x00000000bfffffff] > >>> [ 0.000000] Initmem setup node 0 [mem > >>> 0x0000000080000000-0x00000000bfffffff] > >>> [ 0.000000] On node 0 totalpages: 262144 > >>> [ 0.000000] DMA32 zone: 3584 pages used for memmap > >>> [ 0.000000] DMA32 zone: 0 pages reserved > >>> [ 0.000000] DMA32 zone: 262144 pages, LIFO batch:63 > >>> [ 0.000000] SBI specification v0.2 detected > >>> [ 0.000000] SBI implementation ID=0x1 Version=0x6 > >>> [ 0.000000] SBI v0.2 TIME extension detected > >>> [ 0.000000] SBI v0.2 IPI extension detected > >>> [ 0.000000] SBI v0.2 RFENCE extension detected > >>> [ 0.000000] software IO TLB: mapped [mem > >>> 0x00000000b9e00000-0x00000000bde00000] (64MB) > >>> [ 0.000000] CPU with hartid=0 is not available > >>> [ 0.000000] CPU with hartid=0 is not available > >>> [ 0.000000] riscv: ISA extensions acdfim > >>> [ 0.000000] riscv: ELF capabilities acdfim > >>> [ 0.000000] percpu: Embedded 17 pages/cpu s29856 r8192 d31584 u69632 > >>> [ 0.000000] pcpu-alloc: s29856 r8192 d31584 u69632 alloc=17*4096 > >>> [ 0.000000] pcpu-alloc: [0] 0 [0] 1 [0] 2 [0] 3 > >>> [ 0.000000] Built 1 zonelists, mobility grouping on.
