FYI, see the discussion: <https://patchwork.linux-mips.org/patch/14505/>, and the original patch: <https://patchwork.linux-mips.org/patch/14465/>. My advice has been to stick `$(call cc-option,-mno-float,-msoft-float)' there instead, although there might be a slight controversy around it, so if you are happy with revisiting Guenter's change in the future, then you may well pick the original patch.
