Hi,
I'll catch the thread from a different angle. Well .... if you had some data
on your disk which you
no longer need ,ie you've deleted and you want no one else to see
anymore--eg product designs,past marketing strategies,etc....
Someone comes along and recovers it with Lost &  Found or any
undelete utility at large , would you find yourself in a spot of bother ??

To rectify this maybe you need something like what I'll call a 'File
Shredder', which overwrites
your original data in a form so that it cannot be recovered using certain
prescribed standards.

1) How important is something like that in a Linux Server or a Linux Box ?
2) Are there any packages implementing this already ?
