Hi,
Yesterday was a sad day for me. My extended partition got corrupted.
When I tried to create an iso image using xcdroast it tried to write on
the extended partition /dev/hda2 ??? and it threw some error at me and
asked me if u want to format ???? I pressed cancel. Then I worked for
around one hour. Than when I restarted the machine voila
loading grub
error
When I boot using bootable disk it gave kernel panic. I passed everything
root=/dev/hda7 etc. etc. but since the extended partition was corrupted
nothing worked.
When I ran dos fdisk it showed me only the primary partition as FAT32 and
the extended partition without the file sytem info. I had two FAT32
partitions in the extended partition along with linux partitions. It seems
like everything is gone. I am lost.
Is there anyway to repair this partition somehow ?
Otherwise it a hard day at home Install windos, debian :-)
