I have no idea if this will fuel or calm things, but there is an archived talk sub-page on wikipedia on the subject: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Linux_Mint/Archive_Israel-Palestine_Controversy I find mint to be very useful, both for "professional" and "home" users. I tried ubuntu for a while, it left a bitterer taste than any other distro i tried before.
