I've now tried it and one major problem I found for my primary use case is that after I drag a file to VLC, the scroll-view in the pane/tab from where the file was scrolled gets set to place the (highlighted) entry of the file at the bottom. I'm using doublecmd-qt-0.6.5-1.mga6 on Mageia Linux x86-64 v6 - can you reproduce this problem?
