Dear Mailing list members

I have an Postfix mail server, which listen on my computer's 25 port, I
redirected it to my adsl's
25 port, but over there it does not listen. I do not know why.

I scanned the localhost with nmap port scanner, afterwards I scanned my wan IP
address with nmap port scanner.
I found some differences among these port scan's results:

First time, I scanned my localhost:

nmap -A localhost

Starting nmap 3.81 ( http://www.insecure.org/nmap/ ) at 2007-09-06 07:21 CEST

Interesting ports on localhost (127.0.0.1):

it is a dynamic address)

nmap -A 84.1.166.202

I have an SMC 7400 VBR adsl router, so if I would like to achieve that my
servers will be listening my adsl's
(my wan ip) ip address, I will have to ports forward from the 192.168.2.157 (my
computer IP address) to my wan ip (my adsl modem's IP address).
I configured my SMC 7400 VBR adsl router's web interface's virtual server/port
forwarding menu as:

(Virtual Server
You can configure the Barricade as a virtual server so that remote users
accessing services such as
the Web or FTP at your local site via public IP addresses can be automatically
redirected
to local servers configured with private IP addresses. In other words,
depending on the
requested service (TCP/UDP port number), the Wireless Barricade redirects the
external service request
to the appropriate server (located at another internal IP address).)

I do not know, why closed my wan ip address' 25 port? I redirected it from my
computer's IP to my adsl's IP address.

25/tcp closed smtp

Do you know why it closed?

Best Regards,

WM
