Why?  I don't think IE is an integral part of Windows.  I think Microsoft 
argued that in its antitrust court case, when it stated that it had not forced 
Windows users to utilize only IE, that it had enabled competing 
products/browsers.  Does it say anywhere in IE's license that it's use is 
allowed only within MS Windows?

Hi Michael,
The IE6 EULA states pretty clearly that installation of IE6 is dependant on 
having a valid EULA for
one of the MS operating systems. Take a look at the Note section right at the top of the EULA for the exact text.
