Am very unfond of doing raid ops on main processor. 2. in case of drive failure, recovery process is a pain 3. in case of device move, reintegration of volume is also a pain and may lead to data loss 4. lower performance than any hardware raid 5. no safte support there's more, but is enough -- ---MAV Marc A.
