For my work I need the jre1.3.1.01 plug-in for connecting to several application. I've downloaded the RPM from the Sun site and installed it as the manual in the site specifies . I made the symbolic link and placed all the files in the respective locations , but when I try and connect to the site , mozilla doesn't recognize the plug-in and I fail to get access to the site.
Which symlinks did you make? the jre/plugin/i386 directory has 3 sub-directories -- ns4 (irrelevant), ns610 & ns610-gcc32 -- which one of that latter two did you symlink from? Try both, one should work, one not, depending on your system. (I don't know mdk, so I can't tell which).
Or maybe you tried both, in which case describe in more detail what exactly you did.
