Yes, I ran the rsync script manually. I'm not sure why it did not run to begin with. Investigations are being conducted.

Now hamakor mirror
has a time stamp of 04-Sep-2003 too, and indeed console-data, for
example, shows the up to date version.

That's because it's in "c". The script is currently up to "g". It should take it a little while to finish the update.

There was still a lag of 2 or 3 days between the time that the local
mirror had the up to date console-data pointed to in its Packages.gz and
the time that the upstream mirror had it.

I didn't understand the problem. Are you saying that the index on Hamakor was MORE up to date than the upstream mirror?

Perhaps the little filter is
buggy? There was a similar problem a week or so ago. It was fixed then
just as it was fixed now: by updating Packages.gz. Yet then Schahar told
me about a `Disk Full' situation. Does hamakor suffer from such a
problem?

It did. Gentoo released a new version, and our disks were crammed. Merging all files of identical MD5 now gives us about 10G free. We will also remove the Mandrake mirror in a little while (the site already points to IGLU's version, which was brought up to date). The fun fun life of a mirror admin :-)

The problem this time around was not a result of lack of disk space, however. I don't know what was it a result of. Did I say that investigations are being carried out already?

By the way, how come the time stamp of the file is 04-Sep-2003 22:19?

Probably time zone differences. ftp.us.debian.org has a timestamp of 04-Sep-2003 14:19.
