See /etc/network/interfaces

Compared to Redhat and Mandrake's network configs, Debian's network config
is clear and simple.

See interfaces(5) for the exact details.

You also need to make sure that the modules of the relevant cards are
loaded. They should be in /etc/modules

Why re-install !?

(debian is not meant to be reinstalled ;-) )
