Hi, Try doing traceroute to the Ip you are trying to ping, maybe your routing table is misconfigured. One other thing, Many hosts block ICMP , so you wont be able to ping them even though you have connection to the outside world, try pinging some dns server those usually work, or even better open a telnet/netcat connection to port 80 of some knows web host.
