I didnt read the lowmem.txt back then (when i installed the 386) and i had 
no problems.

I did to things, although:
1. I added the swap partition before installing, this way i make the system 
run faster.
2. I installed in non-color text mode, as before, to make the system run 
faster.

If you run into packages that dont install (packages give you errors while 
installing), it could mean - bad memory problems, so check your memory 
before installing. use memtest, i think it is it ;)

btw. I used slackware because, not like you, i had no CD and i installed 
the old fashion way... glorious floppies. :)
