Mike Ray wrote: > does any one have the ip # of AOL so i can block them in the firewall Why would you want to block AOL IPs? You'd be cutting off a large number of international users, and unless you have a personal agenda against AOL, you should realize that this is very poor means of gaining security. You systems shuold be secure from all external IPs, not just AOL users. Anyways, although I disagree with what you are wanting to do, I do feel you deserve a better answer than what I've seen so far. Some important resources with regards to finding IP blocks and other DNS information can be found on the following sites: http://www.icann.org/ The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers http://www.iana.org/ The Internet Assigned Numbers Authority http://www.arin.net/ American Registry for Internet Numbers (probably a good bet for finding AOL IPs) Amongst other things, these links might be useful if you're trying to find out who 'owns' an IP to lodge a complaint, if the IP has no reverse DNS, or maybe if the admins of that domain are perhaps themselves the perpetrators of your abuse claims. --- Gaven Cohen aka Kinslayer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> www.wastelands.net freelance sysadmin/programmer HABONIM DROR linux, fantasy enthusiast DH/DSS: 0xBCE81437 FD7A F6BD E2E8 6B1F F6AB 7E39 4AC0 96FB BCE8 1437 ================================================================= To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
