It can be useful if the people writing will try to make rational points,
and generally not flame too much. Not sure it can happen, though.

Yes. The only problem is that I don't have the time for that. 

I thought that part of the idea of a users group is to use other people's
experience.

I wouldn't blindly entrust that decision, but I would like to hear some
points for and against some distros.

But if you decide to answer with such a point, please think about your
readers...
