perhaps i wasn't clear enough. i was not intending to dissmiss differences
in general. i was refering to differences between distributions. they are
not that different from each other, after all, and they all strive to get
better all the time. if we make the comparision for each distribution on
its own, newer versions versus old ones, we see great progress. at any
given time, we see some other distribution that seems "better" then the
others, simply cause they released their newest version, while the others
haven't yet. this is due to competetion, and to that, all distributions
add something, and that what makes all distributions - better.

there is - to disagree, and there is - to use street language in a rather
uncivilized manner. and that second part seems to come both from
programmers, whome i'm not sure ever wrote software that matches the
qualities they require from others (that would include me too), and from
users that insist on looking on the empty half of the glass, while they
could also enjoy the full half of it.
