FACT: Linux sucks, but not as much as Solaris.
FACT: BSD is the most genious system of all times.
After we cleared these points up, I, as the linux-il-owner, must
kick myself out of the list for advocacy.

In most BSD systems, there is a "core team" which has write
access to the source code, and other coders, whose only chance
to submit their code to the OS is to give it to the member of the
core team. Sounds nice to me, actually.

s/now/no/
Stability is more important than features.

Integrated? More like, "comes with". And what OS do you mean?
Solaris? Digital UNIX? The good ol' SunOS? UNIX 7th edition?
Let's face it, everything except Linux. When you say "SunOS
4.1.4", you are referring to the kernel and things like awk. If
you want another version of awk on your SunOS 4.1.4 box, go ahead
and install it.

I don't like Solaris either.

But closely related ones.

Ext2fs. It's fast like hell. Well, a little slower than hell,
actually.
> And why donating XFS means UFS is better than ext2?
What is XFS and why was it donated by whom to whom for what, BTW?

Yup. Think different. Apple.

If you think C++ is not overly complicated, just what is a protected
abstract virtual base pure virtual private destructor, and when
was the last time you needed one?
