In detail - your progrm tried to access memory that it has no rights to
access. Unfortunately, this error message says nothing more than
"Something bad with it". You have to use debugger to get more.

You got SEGV while compiling? You might have bad hardware (like flaky
memory). I observed pgcc also to SEGV on some very strange parameter
strings. Try vanilla gcc if you don't use it.
