All,
Pierce House has worked diligently, over the years, to monitor and adjust sound at events to address concerns.
Investments were made in sound curtains.
Decibel levels are monitored.
Events and music have an established curfew.
Efforts were made to identify where sound carried and where pockets existed..and then those areas were monitored.
It would seem the solutions might have left some holes.

The current property manager and Pierce House Committee are doing a wonderful job slowly restoring this place to its former glory, all the while making it available to all.
Events are critical to funding the upkeep of this gem!
We all benefit from the Pierce House being a community resource, as we are about be reminded  this coming June 14 as it hosts the Feast and Fair.

I urge those having issues meet with the Pierce House Committee, recognizing that they do a delicate balancing act to ensure Pierce House is able to continue to function and serve us all.

DeCordova tools served an important role in our community.
The Friday events are great for families and others to gather-much needed intergenerational socializing.
It would be a shame to lose these events too.

Hi fellow Lincolnites,

I hope this message finds you well! I am reaching out to let you know about a letter to be sent to the Select Board concerning the level of noise coming from Decordova and Pierce House. A copy of the letter is attached to this email. As you can see, it highlights the issues and proposes some solutions (additional communication from, oversight by, and accountability of the venues)

The letter will come from neighbors and others who are routinely negatively impacted as the events at the venues move outdoors (which happens to coincide with when we like to spend time outdoors and with our windows open).  We are all very clear that our goal is not to be party poopers; however, despite past actions taken by the venues to control their sound levels, coordinated by Dan Pereira, assistant town administrator (thank you, Dan!), the levels continue to be excessive, and we are a captive audience.  We are looking for a constructive solution that works for both sides.

If the sounds from the venues trouble you, we need your help. You can provide that by agreeing to have your signature appear on the letter. By obtaining as many signatures as possible, we hope to persuade the Select Board to act to change the situation.

If you are amenable to signing the letter, please send me an email at [email protected] and I will add you to the list.

I greatly appreciate your consideration!

Jenn
