*First and foremost, we want to thank all of the family members and
caregivers who bought and/or dressed their kids in rainbows, brought their
kids to Pride Kickoff, or gave them the freedom to go. You help make
Lincoln a welcoming place to all, and help make Pride a success. We also
want to thank all of the volunteers for setting up, cleaning up, lining the
parade route, face-painting, controlling the ice-cream chaos, and
everything in-between, and to the guests and family members who picked up
every last bit of trash (and the Step stage!)Also thanks to the Rainbow and
SAGA Clubs for being their loud and proud selves, to the Club advisors who
so lovingly give their time and energy, to LEAP, and the LPS Step Team, YAK
(Youth Acquiring Knowledge) <https://yakhiphop.my.canva.site/yakdance>, and
Layla and David, all for their awesome performances. Thanks to Lincoln Land
Conservation Trust / Rural Land Foundation for use of the space, and METCO
Coordinating Committee for funding the bus for the LPS Step Team. Thanks to
Public Safety and Dan Pereira, the Town’s IDEA Committee, and the town
organizations that tabled (Parks and Rec, LincFam, Lincoln Dems, the Town
Staff Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Friends of the Lincoln Library,
the Library Children’s Department). And, lastly, thanks to Mass Cultural
Council, Parks and Rec, and PTO for their generous financial support! It
truly was a community effort! To be included in planning for next year’s
event, or to pass along comments or suggestions, please email
[email protected] <[email protected]>. See you next
year! (PS Individual names have been removed because it’s a crazy world but
you know who you are!!) *
