I love the sharpness of a color laser printer and had one for years. However, when it died, I decided to switch down to the EcoTak almost completely on cost alone.
Laser Printer Cost: $329 Full set of Laser Toner cartridges: $220 If you are a low volume print user, this will work fine, but if you print a lot, and cost is the concern: Epson EcoTank ET-4760 Cost: $450 Replacement Inks: $50 These are for comparable page volumes. Laser printer is sharper and faster, and has professional finish especially with black toner. I used to replace laser toner once a year, and paid for the primer several times over in toner costs alone. Long story short, what you get will depend on your needs of course. Laser can’t be beat for quality, but at a cost. EcotTank can’t be beat for cost, but comes with a slight quality cost. Good luck on your hunt!
