I agree that the audio quality is highly variable.  For ex. Paul sounded 
like those talking humanoids from old sci-fi movies.  But some other 
participants were clear and crisp.  Go figure.

Some people are just terrible at written communication.  So yes, this 
might not be universally appreciated.
