Probably. That's why the installation instructions I posted here ( https://github.com/wbsoft/frescobaldi/wiki/Frescobaldi-Mac-OS-X-install-guide <https://github.com/wbsoft/frescobaldi/wiki/Frescobaldi-Mac-OS-X-install-guide> ) are using a macport installation (I was never able to install all the dependencies using homebrew).
