Like someone said on a recent thread, you can also download the
documentation by running
lilypond-2.14.1-1.linux-64.sh with the --doc option.

In that case, I hope someone will fix the documentation on the web so that
I could actually access the notation reference.

I don't know why it works for some but not for me, only that looking it up
online is not a viable option for me at present.

I think it probably works for everyone except you! Online forums suggest
clearing your cache may help.
Is it the Notation Reference you want?
