Not sure if this is helpful, but one (only?) property which
affects the placement of elements of a key signature is
'padding. It affects all elements except the first.

Try playing with
\override Staff.KeySignature #'padding =#-1

BTW, more people might respond if you post a small example
which is immediately compilable.
