Hmm, I don't see how I could easily write code (or different included files like in your gub case) to support exceptions stored in a variable: try: do_one_file (f) except UnknownVersion: error (_ ("%s: Unable to determine version. Skipping") % f) except InvalidVersion, ex: error (_ ("%s: Invalid version string `%s' \n" "Valid version strings consist of three numbers, " "separated by dots, e.g. `2.8.12'") % (f, ex.version) ) Except of course moving that part of the convert-ly code out to two separate files (which include some new include files containing the functions they call) for 2.x and 3.0... Of course, I might be missing the obvious, though.
