Well, I don't know why, but how to avoid it: you can use multiple voices. One of them gets \voiceOne, so the stems go up no matter what pitch, the other gets \voiceTwo, thus making the stems go down. -- Gruß | Greetings | Qapla' Beamy, Scot me up!
