thanks mats and valentin for all the information. it seems i stumbled upon a known issue... but at the same time, i'm rather proud to have been able to find a good solution all by myself!
by the way and for what it's worth, i think that for chromatic clusters (i. e. two notes in a chord, sharing the same stem) spilt stem alla bartók IS a good alternative (THE correct alternative?). when the two notes belong to different voices that's a completely different situation. there i'd wish that LP wouldn't merge the noteheads like it's doing now. IMO they should be treated like differently-headed and differently-dotted notes. thanks for your attention and your help, i find trying to learn LP very exciting! best, lj (i have more questions coming...) _______________________________________________ lilypond-user mailing list lilypond-user@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/lilypond-user
