Hey Trevor,
Dynamics placed between piano staves can collide with
barlines. It makes no difference whether they are
centered or not.
Is there any way to apply the lyric trick
\consists "Bar_engraver"
\consists "Separating_line_group_engraver"
\override BarLine #'transparent = ##t
to the dynamics, in order to make them avoid the barlines?
Just a thought...
