Under Windows, I think you have to use the filename of the font (without the ".TTF" suffix), not the friendly-fontname. In my Windows/FONTS directory I have FontName FileName ..... ..... BinnerD BINNERN.TTF ..... ..... ..... ..... which means I would have to use \override #'(font-name . "binnern") on my system.
