download the latest release of Frescobaldi.”
I am a macOS user, so I used LilyPond for a year or longer before I
learned that I could have set up LilyPond from within Frescobaldi at
the outset (or that I can install new LilyPond releases from within
Frescobaldi, too).
The Windows instructions also do not mention that new users can do
everything within Frescobaldi: 1.2 Graphical setup under Windows

I suggest that the Windows and macOS setup tutorials be changed to
mirror the GNU/Linux instructions, because it’s less intimidating for
potential converts to LilyPond, if they are not too computer-savvy, to
install only one software program (Frescobaldi) and do everything
within that program.
I've sent a revision to the Learning Manual, based on your ideas, which
condenses the instructions to a single set.
