Bug with lilypond please help

Hello
I'm unable to open the pdf documents produced; both Acrobat and Foxit say they 
are in  a wrong format and Acrobat says they are .log files.
I used to use this software many years ago with success, and just started today 
again. i have the latest installed, and have successfully installed and 
madecorrect associations etc. But files are now .log and not .pdf I believe. 
Unable to open.
