There are in fact a few other issues that sometimes happen in connection with this bug: besides spacing, besides the problem with clefs and key signatures when a change is taking place, there are times when, for example, \appoggiatura { b''32( c cis } which normally produces three notes beamed, makes three independent notes, which require a manual beam. Not all these issues are solved by adding empty grace constructs in the other voices. The problem is, examples are usually quite large, and therefore unsuitable for submission as bugs.
