I compile my .ly files within the cygwin window : it runs much faster than
cliquing on the .ly file.
For the output file, you can specify it in the command :
lilypond -- dvi myfile.ly. ( see

Objet : Compile faster
21/03/2005 14:39
Hi,
I am using LilyPond 2.4.2 under Cygwin (Windows XP).
When compiling files it needs about 20 seconds for one file with only a few
notes! Is there an
option to speed up this process? The output should only be a .dvi-file. At the
moment I got *.tex,
*.pdf, *.dvi ...
I tried the --output=file option telling LilyPond to place the output only to
the file testfile.dvi,
but the other files are created too, which is very time consuming, I think!
Is it possible to compile only files that have been changed? So it would be
possible to put
different Staffs into different files and compile them seperately and
afterwards put them together
to only one big file. So, the different other files need not to be recompiled
when compiling the big
one...
