Hi Jacobe, Lilypond is a rich and complex application. The manuals and learning material are extensive. There's a vast amount of deep information. It often happens that one can miss a section that may be obvious to other people. It's not fair of anybody on this list to blame you for not being able to find a section of the manual.
This list is precisely for supporting people with questions such as yours. There is no such thing as a trivial issue. Please continue to participate in the list. The only thing that people ask is that when faced with difficulties, always provide a minimum working example, or MWE as they are known, so that it is easier for people to assist.
