Oh, that's "offene Türen einrennen" as it would be called in German. It's what has been done in the English manual quite a while ago and naturally the German translation is slated to follow suit. It's just that the German translation is outdated. When a translation becomes outdated, some code passages still tend to be updated automatically (this is necessary or they would stop compiling altogether), causing the text and the examples to drift apart. The German translation has not really been updated for more than a year. It's more or less stuck at 2.16 or even late 2.14. We just had a volunteer starting to look at the translation; maybe stuff will get better soon. So there is really no disagreement over whether \times should mostly be removed from the manual: that's already been done in the English manuals quite a while ago. The German documentation just has to catch up, and the simple-minded proposal of just replacing \times by \tuplet without changing anything else would create a wrong rather than just outdated manual entry. So it seems saner to leave that replacement for the time when the translation is going to be updated. -- David Kastrup _______________________________________________ lilypond-user mailing list lilypond-user@gnu.org https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/lilypond-user
