I cannot contribute with any suitable test cases, but with a

Is there any specific reason that the ly code isn't shown in the
example "The \time command now accepts a rational number in the
numerator. ...", in contrast to all the other examples?
The guidance for that document is to keep examples short, the code
for that sample is relatively long, and the syntax is basically the
same as
for the rational number in the denominator.
It might make more sense to show the denominator example first; do
you think that would have kept you from asking the question?
I mostly reacted on that this was the only example on the page (in the
split HTML version) that didn't include show the code.
You have a perfectly valid argument not to include it, but you are
right that it might have been a bit easier to guess the syntax if you
had shown the denominator example first. I know how to click on the
generated score to see the code, but that's perhaps not true for all
users. On the other hand, the News page cannot be expected to provide
full syntax details, the main thing is that the notation reference
provides a clear description, which it does (second example of Sect.
2.3.1).
