(That's probably too short notice for the release I'm planning to do
later today, but we could target the next one in ~3-4 weeks.)
If it would be manageable to keep this in mind until the next stable
(dot) release, I think I'd prefer to do it that way, as development
versions come and go quite frequently.
Using the 2.23.8 release for Ian Hulin made sense since that marked
crossing the goal line for the specific (yet tremendous) task on which
Ian was one of the first to work; I don't see such a natural connection
in the present case.
But of course that's not for me to decide.
