Six weeks ago I wrote about a very unpleasant size increase of `notation.pdf` from 8MByte to 27MByte with the new PDF engine of `gs`:

And it came back! This enhancement is now implemented, and with a freshly compiled `gs` from GhostScript's git repository I can report that `notation.pdf` is back to around 8.7MByte. Yeah! Werner
