Not necessarily. I guess that the file created by `gperf` is part of
the tarball. However, you are installing directly from the git
repository. In most cases this means that you have to install more
stuff to compile everything.
Normally, there is a `README.git` file or something similar that
describes the additional steps necessary to compile from the
repository. If this is missing you should complain :-)
