Just to clarify: <http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=3cf557c12d27f1b2250e69a543136da098112d80> "drop gconf integration as per ESC decision" not only drops the --enable-lockdown stuff, but also GNOME support for proxy, user name, etc. settings (see list at Default::getPropertyValue, shell/source/backends/desktopbe/desktopbackend.cxx) that are still supported in KDE and (partially) on Mac and Windows.
