JFYI - I fwded Sam's mail on this topic to ux-advise this morning (well
started a new thread there to keep this quiet), and the patch is not
merged yet.
Also - it only hides the item by default, it is two clicks to show it
again.
Wrt. the bugs on upgrade around toolbar configuration - that sucks;
more detail on the problems experienced would be helpful so we can look
into fixing them :-)
