Bug ID: 104041
Summary: Writer export to PDF has non-clickable URLs
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 5.2.3.1 rc
Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Printing and PDF export
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
Libreoffice Version: 5.2.3.1; Build ID: 1:5.2.3~rc1-4~bpo8+1
Also libreoffice 1:4.3.3-2+deb8u5
I am accustomed to exporting a document from Writer to PDF. I am accustomed to
seeing in the PDF that the hyperlinks (e.g. "http://charlescurley.com/") are
formatted as in Writer (blue text, and a single underscore). I am also
accustomed to the hyperlinks being clickable. I.e. like in a browser, you can
click on the hyperlink and see the link opened in the default browser.
What I now see is that I get the hyperlink formatted as above. But it is not
clickable. I see this both in Evince and Adobe Reader.
Am I missing some new setting?
Could this be a library issue? If so, how can I test it?
acroread 9.5.5-dmo1
evince 3.14.1-2+deb8u1
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a Writer document with at least one hyperlink in it and set as a
hyperlink (ctl-k).
2. Export to PDF as usual.
3. Examine the exported file in a PDF reader. Hover the mouse pointer over the
hyperlink, click on it, double click on it.
Actual Results:
Nothing special for the hyperlink text. The formatting is there (blue,
underscored). But nothing special when hovering the mouse pointer over the
hyperlink, and I see text selection (Evince) or nothing (Reader) when clicking
or double clicking on the hyperlink.
Expected Results:
When hovering over the hyperlink, I expect to see a special mouse pointer or
other indicator that the text is a hyperlink. When clicking (or possibly double
clicking, depending on the PDF display program), I expect to see the link
opened in my default web browser.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No.
Additional Info:
I consider this to be a major feature because people have come to expect to
click on hyperlinks, and some people are too lazy to copy and paste into a
browser. I have documents that depend on this feature for usability and
readability.
