--- Comment #2 from Mark <[email protected]> --- Right. In this proposal, the additional option would be added to the context menu. The look-up to the on-line dictionary would simply confirm to the user whether the speller was truly an error. The choice to add the word to the local dictionary would be a separate additional action by the user. Sorry that was not clear in the original description. Example: "inerrancy" is underlined in the document. User right clicks on the word. A context Menu opens with the new option being "On-line Lookup". User selects that option and a webpage is opened on the page https://www.dictionary.com/browse/inerrancy . User mentally confirms that the word has been spelled correctly and returns to the document. Since that word is likely to be used again, the user right-clicks on the word a second time and selects "Add to Dictionary" or "Ignore" or "Ignore All" -- or if the word is a one-off, none of the above. User choice. An useful feature of those on-line dictionaries is that the user confirms not only the spelling, but by reading the definition-- that the correct homonym is selected. Additionally, most such services can resolve approximate spellings and redirect to the correct one. Thus, "inerancy" automatically redirects to the entry for "inerrancy" -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
